If it no longer works with XP SP3, I'm afraid Lookout may no longer be an option as AFAIK it was acquired by Microsoft and rolled into Windows Desktop Search. I wonder if the discussion here may prove helpful; it references an add-in called Lookeen which appears to get some praise...
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.outlook.general&tid=69128c80-51de-4d54-a4bb-bf9c69a29add&cat=en_US_d02fc761-3f6b-402c-82f6-ba1a8875c1a7&lang=en&cr=&sloc=en-us&m=1&p=1«/\/\Ø|ö±ò\/»®©https://www.blogger.com/profile/04886149439479604072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20977280.post-42695033130063926442008-10-05T22:21:00.000-05:002008-10-05T22:21:00.000-05:00Found your post on a google search. I realise it is a bit out of date, but hope you still use Lookout.

I have just updated Windows XP service patch and now my Outlook with the Lookout add-in doesn't load. I've looked into this on google and found it's because of the mscoree.dll shim or something.

I was wondering if you've recently had the similar problem and have found a work around.

Everytime I go to Tools > Options > Other > Advanced Options > Com Add-ins and click Lookout again, it automatically cancels on re-open.

Appreciate any help on this, I use PublicShareware with Outlook and Lookout on four pcs for my office and it is very frustrating not to be able to use a decent Search within Outlook.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
